unplanned weekend to Paris, part deux

{ Read part one here }

We did enjoy to be able to sleep in on Sunday morning, which never happens. A generous breakfast was waiting for us, at the B&B. We're so glad we decided to do this, it really felt like a little getaway, with no other contraint but driving all day. (and being home before a certain hour, in order to go pick the boys at my inlaws')

We were in the Sologne region, a north-central region, right below Paris. The weather was amazing, and in fact better than it was (and still is) over here in the south !

We left the B&B a little later than planned, the hostess being quite chatty & her black labrador very friendly. We stopped by very quickly to visit a peatland/mire, something we had never seen or visited.

We took the car again & stopped by a beautiful village called Nançay, where we bought the local specialty, a shortbread biscuit ("sablés") which recipe was created in 1953.

And we finally hit the (motorway) road again, stopped a bunch of time, and reached our goal, picked the boys etc etc etc ...
