building summer memories

We were wise to go the beach on Sunday (see previous post) because yesterday turned out to be stormy, rainy & much cooler ! Definitely not the day for going to the beach ! But it was a pretty summer cozy day indoors, and I love this kind of days too !

Today was sunnier & warmer but still cooler than summer average here, but in my book, these temps are perfect summer temps !! (high of 25.5°C / 78°F, low of 16°C / 60°F today) It was the perfect afternoon for getting out in nature, and that's what we did ! We went to a favorite spot, with iron rich soil that reminds you of Grand Canyon. (click to enlarge)

And once back home, after dinner, I prepared a banana bread/cake (recipe can be found here) & drip brewed coffee, both for the next two days' breakfasts.

Then we watched Evil Under The Sun (1982). Yesterday we had watched Death On The Nile (1978). We've declared this summer to be the "Summer of Movies" (well, by this we meant movies hubby & I've watched during our childhoods & teen ages) Renting them on iTunes makes it much less expensive than going to the cinema these days !! I guess we must be a little nostalgic, but it's a good way to build our sons cinematographic culture. We've recently watched Ghostbusters (1984), The Trouble With Harry (1955) & The Goonies (1985).

I thought of listing here the films we've been watching, maybe you need a suggestion for yourself, or maybe you have a suggestion for me ?! It must be a film that a 10 y-o & a 12 y-o can watch.

The Summer of Movies

  • Evil Under The Sun (1982)
  • Death On The Nile (1978)
  • Ghostbusters (1984)
  • The Trouble With Harry (1955)
  • The Goonies (1985)

Later this week I'll be posting a couple of series of photos taken with my actual camera today in nature. Until then, please take care & enjoy life !
