the last three days of our Advent Calendar

I had to wait until today to find time to post the recap of the three final activities in our Advent Calendar.

Last  Friday (Day 22), the activity was making homemade Crunch-style chocolate. Basically, melt chocolate (we used organic 55% dark), and mix in with puffed rice. (we use organic whole) The process was super easy, the result was a hit ! Yay !

Last Saturday (Day 23), the activity was making photo holders with aluminium wire. Another easy, fast & rewarding activity, wonderful !

And the final day (Day 24), the activity was baking "pizza crackers" (vegan), and we used this recipe by Elephantastic Vegan. Very basic (and few) ingredients that most everyone has at home. Again, easy, relatively fast, and we ate them on Christmas Eve dinner.

I will make a recap post, including the activities from Advent Calendars past.

I hope you've had a beautiful Christmas day (or whatever you celebrated). Ours was simple, as usual, with my mom & inlaws at our place. It was grey, damp & cold, a good day for staying indoors, cozy.

With love,

week recap : September 19th-25th

Sorry if I didn't post much this week. I got busy for the shop update, then got carried away by other offline things. There are weeks like that ... A little recap is in order !

- Trying to eat as much summer local organic goodness as we can. Tomatoes, cantaloupes, and more.
- I have hardly done as many loads of laundry as this week. Taking advantage of the warm & dry weather this week for changing all bed linens (and putting the duvets back on ! yay !), washing the pillows, etc. I also took advantage of my very bad mood yesterday (for various reasons + PMSing) for sorting the boys' wardrobes (they grow so fast, don't they ?!), and purging my bed linen closet as well. LOTS has been packed for giving away. I feel doubly good about it.
- Stair case in my building
- Wall in my street

Yesterday was my beloved mom's birthday ! We celebrated it on Wednesday because we had more time for enjoying it (boys are off school in the afternoon). So we baked together (her & I) a tarte tatin, that we savoured with homemade chantilly cream, and a scoop of French made artisan ice cream. It was delicious & we all had a fabulous time. I'm her only child, so who will take care of her (birthdays included) if not me ?!!

I moved my sewing machine to a brighter spot of the apartment, and that's where I sewed all the lovely homewares that I have added to the shop this past Wednesday ! Storage bins, coasters & a mini Crafter's Kit, making the SIMPLICITY line bigger. (organic cotton chambray & organic cotton twill) You can see them here !

Nothing much more to add for today. The blog's been so quiet. Sometimes it does make me sad, I must say.
All those bloggers (friends) that used to be, at some point. And so many have gone, have stopped, or don't take the time anymore. Blogging is not a priority for me, I must tell you (in case you ever wondered), but I have always made time for it, in the good and in the tough moments of my life.

I just hope that not everyone will be too much seduced by the appeal of Instagram's express posting. I've been on Instagram for many years now & it has not stopped me from blogging. (there, I said it) Because blogging is just not the same, it's higher quality content. (in my opinion)

Have a glorious weekend ! ☀️

week recap : June 20th-26th

This will be the last week recap until the end of July. My heart is a little heavy today as we're bringing Pitou the cats' hotel, where he'll be staying until July 13th. I know he'll be well taken care of, but I still feel very sad & will miss him very very much.

So these first photos are of him exclusively, my sweet little furry baby.

Then, more of last week's happenings, minus the beach photos that I already posted last Saturday.

TOP : I need some change of scenery when it comes to working out, as I lose motivation pretty fast. I have found this fun lady, Cassey Ho, on Instagram first, and she has many many videos of short exercises (some being quite intense, I must say), that you can find on her channel Blogilates here on Youtube. What I love about her is that she doesn't have a six pack, doesn't have a tigh gap, and is very much fun. (& motivating)
BOTTOM : new fitness shoes, at my precise size (35.5 EU / 3 UK / 5.5 US), and on sale ! Score. Whatever it will take to motivate me !

TOP : hot days, hot nights, and heatwave coming our way, and I'm NOT looking forward to it !!!
BOTTOM : new storage bins were added this week, as well as small watercolors. You can see them here. I will ship till tomorrow, otherwise orders will be shipped on July 13th, the shop remaining open.

TOP : watched a documentary on artist Jean-Michel Basquiat & loved it.
BOTTOM : on Wednesday, I became the mom of a teenager. How did I let that happen ?! Only very few of you knew me just before he was born.

I have made little buttons that you can see to the right, going to the main categories. I may add more as time allows. But right now, time is not my friend. So many things to juggle with these days.

I'm preparing all of our stuff for the upcoming vacations, and boy this is a job on its own. Trying to pack as small as possible, as few as possible, but not forgetting anything. We're going to Paris for 3 days (3 nights at the hotel) & then a week in a house we're renting. My mom's coming too. It will be fun, but dang, that's so much work & planning & organization before !!
