black matte beauty

I love handmade ceramics. I can't deny. New or thrifted, I love them ! I have already made a blog post about Sun Tree Studio (the brand of the talented Nata Pestune), based in Hamburg (Germany) back in January 2016.

Last week she updated her online shop, and I couldn't resist this gorgeous, matte black porcelain beauty that you can see all over my blog post. Look at that texture & that shape ! I tried to take a close up to let you appreciate the texture !

I'm looking forward to using this beautiful cup. In the meantime, if you want to get a similar one, or a different one, you can visit her shop  here !

You can also follow her on ★ Instagram or  Facebook.

support handmade Sunday // Suntree Studio ceramics

I can not resist beautiful handmade ceramics, that's a fact. Even more when they are on sale because they (supposedly) have flaws. I love flaws ! I do ! Who doesn't have flaws anyway ?

Back in mid-December, I therefore bought this bowl above, and another that is almost similar, from Suntree Studio shop, in Germany (Nata Pestune being the ceramist). I got them safely two days before Christmas, very well wrapped, it was perfect.

Those (so-called) little flaws are, in my opinion, what makes the ceramic be more "alive". I consider them as freckles & it makes me smile. Wabi-sabi all the way. Beautiful in its perfect imperfection.

Nothing better than a lovely handful of organic clementines from Corsica (an island beloning to France) for enhancing its natural beauty, specially on grey days like we've been having (for too long).

Now I invite you to visit Nata's beautiful website & beautiful shop ...

Have a lovely rest of your weekend ! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your supportive comments to my last post. I really needed to have this off my chest, so that you could understand why my shop feels like being "frozen" for months. You all are gems. Love you.

PS : this post also is the first one in the new category "support handmade Sunday" ... :)

support independant makers : Tilly Niel - LAND(e)SCAPE

It was my birthday over a month ago, and I had decided to treat myself with something beautiful made by someone talented. I like to wear earrings, so my choice went to earrings made by a French fellow, Tilly Niel, artist & owner of LAND(e)SCAPE. I chose a gingko leaves pair of brass earrings, and I love them so !

Aren't they just delightful ? They make me think of Art Nouveau (I loooove Art Nouveau !), which was inspired by natural forms & structures. Gingko being a symbol of resistance & strength, I didn't hesitate.

Tilly lives in a tiny village in Northern Aveyron. You can visit her beautiful journal for glimpses of her process, of her inspiration, or of her travels or daily life. Needless to say that she is a very sweet & kind lady !

She has an online shop that you can find here. That's where I purchased my earrings from. She is also a textile designer & doesn't make only brass jewelry, she also makes delicate textile pieces. (brooches or hairpins)

I hope you will visit her universe if you didn't know her already !
