after the long awaited rain

We almost didn’t get any rain at all during the last 3 months ... and this time of year, the need of rain is even more necessary because it fills the water stocks for the rest of the year ! So all the rain we finally got this past weekend was long long awaited !

Problem is that we also got hail, several times actually, and I really feared for all the plants in my garden, specially all the ones I bought these last weeks ! But after checking, they were shaken but not damaged, phew !!!

With no major travel this summer by lack of budget, I decided to fill the garden with more flowers after some doing research. We have a local plant nursery that has interesting prices.

I hope to cut branches from the eucalyptus from time to time, for us or for gifting my mom or mother in law, saving us money from the florist, useless waste (from the florist) and money as well !

I hope you are all doing well. Spring is such a busy time of year for everyone. Some of you must be on spring break. Ours will start in a couple of week. Wishing you all a wonderful start to the week !

happy equinox !

Well it’s me again (posted yesterday !) ! Just wanted to pop to wish you all a happy equinox, whether spring or autumn, according to where you’re reading me from !

This flower on top is a Scabiosa columbaria Butterfly Blue. Bought it recently with buds, and it’s now blooming ! I’m waiting a little bit longer before transplanting it to the flowerbed. I bought more flowers & plants, and can’t wait to show them to you once they’ll be in their final place.

It hasn’t rained in a couple of months, which is kind of awful because it’s been super windy as well (as hell, actually), therefore everything is so desperately dry … If you only knew how strong I wish it’d rain ! Sigh. It doesn’t presage a wet summer.

Anyway, so are weather cycles. Wishing you all a very happy day !

is it May or February ?

19blog-daffo1.jpg

On this last day of February, I’m wondering what month we actually are : May or February ? It’s been very warm for the season, and I know that some of you in the UK or the Netherlands (or even anywhere in France, coucou je sais que vous êtes là !) have been experiencing unseasonal warm temps.

mini daffodils bought last year, that grew back this year !

Good thing for the laundry, and the plants suddenly think we’re at the end of spring, but it is not reasonable to think it’s going to last ! And I wouldn’t want it to last ! I’m in short sleeve teeshirt & flip flops … I actually have put my wooy slippers for a couple of months only. Then back to the flip flops … oh well.

In the meantime, I’m enjoying my blooming flowers & plants. I recently bought some new, that I will be sharing soon.

I hope everything is fine in your life & in your corner of the world. I hope you’re having a nice so far.
