a lovely little set

Cozy Memories, Japanese culture, shop updateCozy Memories

It feels like I've been away for long, but it's only been eleven days, ugh ! School break starts tonight and it's been a busy week with exams for our eldest, training session for our youngest (away for the week), a busy husband, Valentine's day and we've been tackling our first painting project of the year : painting our youngest bedroom. We feel happy about it & pumped for tackling the rest ! In between, life goes as regular, and it's been tough to squeeze any crafting.

But, I managed ! So here is a new pincushion, well actually a lovely little set of two ! I'll let you see them ...

More infos in the shop over here.

I hope to make more next week, first week of school break, since we might tackle other renovation works on the second week. Fingers crossed. Thank you for stopping by today ! Have a terrific weekend ahead !

first coasters of the year

Cozy Memories, Japanese culture, shop updateCozy Memories

After a one-day-trip to Paris last week, which usually turns to be my Japan fix (a way to access Japanese food & goods, without actually going to Japan !), I found myself inspired by this beautiful country, again. And from my hands, were born this past weekend, sets of brand new coasters. I'll let you see them now ...

They are reversible, both sides being equally nice ! One side features a traditional print & running (red) stitches, the other side features a (not perfectly round) circle of a different print, that was hand appliquéed, and with again, a (red) stitched detail. None is 100% identical to another, the circles vary in size & shape, the stitches too. They are all unique.

There are 4 sets available (two of them are ready to ship), and comes in a lovely drawstring bag, ready for gifting, or for being kept in a drawer for instance.

I love the way they look with these thrifted, handmade ceramic cups ! You can find them here in the shop

Thanks for stopping by today !

With love,

Bambouseraie - April 2017

botanical inspiration, France, Japanese cultureCozy Memories

It was already a month & a half ago, and I almost feel ashamed I didn't post these photos earlier. But you know ... life happens, right ?

The Bambouseraie is a special place, a huge bamboo park, where you feel you've travelled far away without actually having to travel that far. Let me share some photos, if you please.

It was still spring, cherry trees were in full bloom, wisteria & camelias as well. It was a quiet day without any tourists, a very enjoyable moment.

I love this place, it always somehow feels magical. I could take photos of everything, again & again. (which is what I do already, actually LOL)

I can't deny that it feels like travelling to Japan without acutally going there. Everything is here to remind you of it : maple tree, cherry tree, bamboos, camelias, torii (a traditional Japanese gate found at the entrance or within a Shinto shrine) ...

I hope you enjoyed the little photo tour. It's deep summer already here. Thank goodness for the swimming pool & outdoor space in the shade. We are so happy we moved to this little house & its little garden & its little swimming pool !
