happy equinox (+ rosemary desktop wallpaper)

Happy equinox everyone, may it be Spring one or Autumn one ! (if you live in the southern hemisphere)

We bought a couple of flowers yesterday & sowed our very first seeds of the season, yay ! This spring, I went for cherry tomatoes (again), cosmos flowers (again), pink ipomoeas (I hope they'll make more leaves & cover more than the Morning Glories), and zinnias, which I hope will thrive !

Our Japanese maple, after a difficult summer, is making buds & leaves again. Phew. The buds are just starting to unfurl, they are so adorable & touching to see :

The rosemaries are in full bloom (I plan to have more, because it does well in the heat, and keep their leaves all year around, which is fantastic !), which is lovely to see.

This last photo above is available as Desktop Wallpaper in the Goodies section of the site. I hope you'll enjoy as much as I enjoy having it in my garden !

Have a lovely day ! Thank you for your visit today !

With love,

those strong & uplifting daisies

Snow or shine, the daisies are always present, always generously giving you their best smiles. The ones in my garden survived the snow, obviously, and are back in force. I thought I'd share some with you ... like sharing the uplifting & happy vibes !

See how sunny (and warm, it went up to 18°C ... it went down to -7°C a handful of days before) it was yesterday ?! Laundry day it was, you bet !! Pitou took time to stop & smell the flowers ! Literally !

Aren't they such pretty yet simple flowers ? I love them to bits ! Happy Sunday you all !

don't forget to feed the birds

I take great joy at watching the birds from my  living-room bay window. Something I couldn't do when we lived in an apartment. I could see birds from a distance, but not offer them food myself, and observe them closer. Living in a house with a garden made that possible.

Last year I installed a bird feeder, and it took me some time to find the right spot, the one where they can see it, and feel safe enough for venturing on the feeder. Our cat Pitou likes to watch them but he never ran after them hoping to catch one, thankfully ! I moved it again this autumn (I had removed it this summer) and found a perfect place, among the flower bed, where the seeds can fall on the ground, where they can hide in the buddleia (butterfly bush), hang themselves to the bamboo stake.

My most greedy visitors are hands down the blue tits ! We've been having so many of them ! But what messy eaters they are ! Thankfully the sparrows are here to help cleaning the grass from the fallen seeds, ah !

We're supposed to get a cold spell this coming week, so I'll check the feeder everyday. You wouldn't believe that I need to fill it up every other day !

I browsed Etsy for selecting items that I loved. Here are four blue tit related handmade creations.

Clockwise from top left : Earth Balance / Made by Aimee / Verbrugge Watercolor / The Magpie Nest. Each photo is linked to the listing.

If you are a bird lover, these artists also have creations on other birds like robins, chaffinches, kingfishers etc. So have a look at them, and please ... don't forget to feed the birds !
