Needlebook, long and narrow (perfect for fitting a pencil case), to hold your pins and needles when on the go for instance. Made of naturally dip-dyed linen on the outside, lined with naturally over dyed cotton print, and a layer of boiled wool (in between) makes the needlebook extra-cozy. It closes with a tie made of naturally dyed silk thread & a ceramic button, handmade by my friend Laura of Sheppard Pottery in Canada. The four pages inside are made of undyed boiled wool.
Silk threads were dyed with Helychrisum stoechas (yellow) & Arbutus unedo + iron (grey). Linen on the outside was dip dyed with Arbutus unedo + iron. Cotton print inside was over dyed with Rhamnus alaternus. All plants (locally grown, wild) were foraged responsibly by me & used when still fresh.
Size : when folded & closed : 6 cm (2.36") x 12,5 cm (4.92")
Please note that it is very hard to capture the actual hues of natural colors. I do my best but keep in mind that colors vary from one screen to another.
Care : spot clean only ! Please keep away from direct sunlight for avoiding fast fading of the colors.
